Finish Line Financial

The Client

Finishline Financial

Who are they

Finishline Financial is an off-shoot from another financial firm, where Todd wanted to start his own venture. He needed a brand new brand identity and website to promote the new business. With over two decades of experience under his belt, he wanted to bring his speciality to the front: alternative investments as a strong part of your retirement portfolio.

Words First

Words lead to more sales. That's why we spend the time needed to get to know you and your ideal clients.

Problem

Hiring a retirement planner is a very intimate and scary endeavor. How do you help potential clients know that they are in good plans? And what sets you apart from all the other retirement planners out there?

Solution

We helped Finish Line focus on taking the overwhelming complexity of retirement planning and positioning their team as retirement guides who make the complex simple. We painted a clear picture of what a vibrant retirement could look like if someone were to hire Finish Line.

Top-Tier Design

Good design supports good messaging and increases brand authority.

Driving Design Concept:

Finish Line Financial strives to simplify and streamline the process of retirement planning through customized and accessible services. When re-designing their website, our goal was to maintain that simplicity and accessibility for their visitors. We highlighted the concise content through clean san-serif headings and clearly defined sections. We were able to display some of the more complex ideas using stylish infographics. The use of a blue throughout the website evokes feelings of reliability and give visitors a sense of security, which is exactly what someone looking into retirement options is needing!

Our Building Process

01. Platform & Technology

We build our sites on WordPress using an intuitive and easy-to-manage page builder (Beaver Builder). We do this primarily because our clients want a website that is simple enough for them to manage on their own: add blog posts, swap out images, make copy changes.

02. Functionality

Most websites we make are what we call "Marketing Sites." They exist to guide a prospective client through the get-to-know-you phase and hand them off to your sales team. Marketing Sites are generally very simple and do not require much beyond a contact form and Active Campaign integration.

Finish Line had a few special functionality elements:

  1. Instead of a traditional blog, they wanted to create a custom landing page that would deliver "7 Secrets to retiring like a multi-millionaire." The 7 secrets are delivered my an email automation system through Active Campaign.
  2. Finish Line hosts their podcast episode on their website, using Power Press by Blubrry.
  3. We created a Custom Post Type for their team members, giving each team member their won landing page.

Timeline

A standard website project takes between 11 and 16 weeks, depending on how responsive our clients are able to be when we need their input or feedback. Here are average timeframes:

Onboarding: 1 week

Messaging & Wireframes: 3 weeks

Design & Revisions: 3 weeks

Build: 3 weeks

Revisions: 4 weeks

Launch: 1 week

This particular project went a lot longer than a standard project does with us. From June to February, this website took 37 weeks. Delays were due to very stringent compliance issues with their parent company as well as launching a podcast and social media marketing strategy to announce their new business. Since it was a brand new business launch, we slowed down the process to make sure we got it right.
