Meet Our Spearhead:
Kevin Freidberg
Kevin Freidberg at Seven Second Websites provided the messaging for Activate Learning's new website and came to us to do run a website planning campaign (we call it a Website Blueprint), design, and website development.
Problem
Activate Learning is a well-established business serving schools throughout the country. They needed to update their website to properly display their professionalism and success. They needed messaging and design that appealed to decision maker at school and district levels as well as appealing to teachers themselves.
Solution
Kevin did a masterful job crafting messaging that connected with the struggles and frustrations that teachers face in the classroom, as well as presenting a clear rationale for why school leadership and districts should use their product. The messaging stresses that this is not a curriculum that gets dumped in your lap and leaves you to figure it out. Activate Learning is there the whole time to help you implement it in a hassle-free way.
Top-Tier Design
Good design supports good messaging and increases brand authority.
Driving Design Concept:
The Activate Learning website design was carefully designed to support their high-quality K-12 science education programs. Our goal was to create a website that empowers teachers and gives them a newfound confidence to implement science curicula into their classrooms. The color scheme, consisting of blue and orange carries their branding throughout the site and creates a sense of trust and enthusiasm. With so much content, it was imperative that the site be easy to navigate and understand.
A bold and easy-to-read San Serif font ensures clear communication of content, while the clean grid layout provides a seamless navigation experience. Isolated images with geometric shapes behind them add a modern and visually engaging touch while the integration of videos and hand-drawn elements enhances user engagement and adds a personalized touch.
We utilized custom iconography in the main navigation menu for each of their curriculum options to streamline access to relevant information. Furthermore, we designed a custom interactive map to connect visitors with their school district's team representative, fostering a strong sense of community and support. The website design not only conveys the relevance and importance of Activate Learning's science curriculum but also provides teachers with essential tools and resources to facilitate engaging and effective science education in the classroom.

Our Building Process
01. Platform & Technology
We build our sites on WordPress using an intuitive and easy-to-manage page builder (Beaver Builder). We do this primarily because our clients want a website that is simple enough for them to manage on their own: add blog posts, swap out images, make copy changes.
02. Functionality
Activate Learning wanted a Map functionality that allowed someone to select their state and have the user experience of getting connected to their local integration specialist. We used MapSVG and embedded a contact form the client's Hubspot account.
Timeline
A standard website project takes between 11 and 16 weeks, depending on how responsive our clients are able to be when we need their input or feedback. Here are average timeframes:
Onboarding: 1 week
Messaging & Wireframes: 3 weeks
Design & Revisions: 3 weeks
Build: 3 weeks
Revisions: 4 weeks
Launch: 1 week
We started the Activate Learning project on March 31st. Our target launch date was July 7th and we launched the site on August 7th, for a total of 19 weeks.
