Beach Cities Accounting
The Client
Beach Cities Accounting
Who are they
With over 30 years of experience, Beach Cities Accounting provides business accounting, payroll, and compliance/advisory services to a very specific niche: Lawyers. Located in a beach town, they are your local Financial Lifeguards, making sure your finances are safe and secure.
Words First
Words lead to more sales. That's why we spend the time needed to get to know you and your ideal clients.
Meet Our Spearhead:
Matt Banker
In addition to being a StoryBrand certified guide, Matt specializes in marketing strategy for accountants and CPAs. He is a fractional CMO for multiple Accounting and CPA firms. His intimate knowledge of the accounting industry makes him the perfect strategist and messaging guide for companies like Jones CPA. He knows their ideal client and how to connect with them on a deep, empathetic level.
Problem
Beach Cities accounting had a very practical, down-to-earth website that was functional, but not as effective as they wanted it to be. It was very word-heavy and not visually engaging. More importantly, it didn't walk people toward the end goal: scheduling a call.
Solution
We had to write the messaging for their site with a very specific audience in mind. Lawyers have unique hang-ups when it comes to hiring an accountant. We wrote the site to illustrate that Beach Cities intimately understands the complexity of accounting in terms of compliance, bookkeeping, payroll, and reporting. We created a simple, repetitive Call-to-Action that would clearly guide site visitors to the end goal: Scheduling a Call where they could start receiving services.
Top-Tier Design
Good design supports good messaging and increases brand authority.
Driving Design Concept:
For Beach Cities Accounting, our goal was to create a website that embodies their brand personality – Carefree, Peaceful, and innovative. We started by using a beach-inspired color palette of light and dark blues to evoke a sense of tranquility. The rounded corners in the design were chosen to mirror the curves in their logo, creating a cohesive and harmonious visual identity. We integrated a bright green from their logo for the call-to-action buttons, providing a refreshing contrast. Subtle beach imagery was strategically used as background, subtly connecting the brand to its coastal roots and reinforcing the carefree and peaceful aspects while the use of sans serif fonts enhances the site's modern and sleek appeal. The result is a website that not only looks fresh and inviting but also conveys the essence of Beach Cities Accounting's unique brand identity.

Our Building Process
01. Platform & Technology
We build our sites on WordPress using an intuitive and easy-to-manage page builder (Beaver Builder). We do this primarily because our clients want a website that is simple enough for them to manage on their own: add blog posts, swap out images, make copy changes.
02. Functionality
Beach Cities needed an easy way for current clients to find the links they need. We created a Client Center drop-down with everything they could ever need. They also wanted a condition-logic form on their contact page that would help vet bad-fit clients and reduce spam.
Timeline
A standard website project takes between 11 and 16 weeks, depending on how responsive our clients are able to be when we need their input or feedback. Here are average timeframes:
Onboarding: 1 week
Messaging & Wireframes: 3 weeks
Design & Revisions: 3 weeks
Build: 3 weeks
Revisions: 4 weeks
Launch: 1 week
We started the Matthew Accounting project on May 26th. Our target launch date was August 25th. Due to the complexity of tax season, our project went longer than we hoped and we launched the site on October 31st. This project took 23 weeks.
