Words First

Words lead to more sales. That's why we spend the time needed to get to know you and your ideal clients.

Meet Our Spearheads:

Matt Banker

In addition to being a StoryBrand certified guide, Matt specializes in marketing strategy for accountants and CPAs. He is a fractional CMO for multiple Accounting and CPA firms. His intimate knowledge of the accounting industry makes him the perfect strategist and messaging guide for companies like Jones CPA. He knows their ideal client and how to connect with them on a deep, empathetic level.

Problem

Like many small CPA firms, Jones CPA had a decent website that needed to be updated in both design and messaging. Their old site had sections of text that were too long for modern site users and messaging that was centered on Jones CPA instead of on their ideal client. They needed updated messaging that connected with their ideal clients in a way that left them feeling like, "They get it."

Solution

Our messaging strategy had a high focus on the advisory element of Jones CPA's offerings. Many business owners want clarity about their money, not just someone who will crunch numbers. They need advice and explanations. We also emphasized how working with Jones CPA will free them up to focus on what they love: their business.

Top-Tier Design

Good design supports good messaging and increases brand authority.

Driving Design Concept:

For Jones CPA, our design strategy was rooted in the essence of their brand personality: classic, friendly, and trustworthy. We wanted to create a website that not only exuded these qualities but also resonated with their primary audience – business owners. To address their previous site's shortcomings, we took a more focused approach. We embraced a modern and clean design, leveraging white space to offer a welcoming and uncluttered experience. One prominent design choice was the incorporation of the three orange squares from their logo, weaving them throughout the site for brand consistency and a touch of vibrancy within their gray, orange, and light blue color palette. Customized icons and client-provided images add a personal touch, replacing generic stock visuals. The result is a cohesive website that not only showcases Jones CPA's expertise but also forges a meaningful connection with their target audience, elevating their online presence and user experience.

Our Building Process

01. Platform & Technology

We build our sites on WordPress using an intuitive and easy-to-manage page builder (Beaver Builder). We do this primarily because our clients want a website that is simple enough for them to manage on their own: add blog posts, swap out images, make copy changes.

02. Functionality

Jones CPA's team section on their About page has bios for each team member. To save vertical space and improve UX, we created modal pop-ups for the bios.

Timeline

A standard website project takes between 11 and 16 weeks, depending on how responsive our clients are able to be when we need their input or feedback. Here are average timeframes:

Onboarding: 1 week

Messaging & Wireframes: 3 weeks

Design & Revisions: 3 weeks

Build: 3 weeks

Revisions: 4 weeks

Launch: 1 week

We started the JonesCPA project on June 30th. Our target launch date was September 29th and we launched the site day days ahead of schedule on September 19th, or just over 11 weeks, in total.
